Mother's Day Flowers
Together with Valentine's Day, Mother's Day is the busiest time of the year for florists.
In the UK, Mother's Day has it's roots in Mothering Sunday, a christian festival that honoured the Virgin Mary and your 'mother church' (the main church in the area).
Young servants were given the day off to make they way back home to their mother church and see their families. It is said that they would pick wild flowers along the way to place them in the church or give them to their mothers.
Mother's day is on a different date each year because it is based on the date of Lent.
The date of Mother's day is the fourth Sunday of Lent.
